"steel-henge"

"Steelhenge" is an abstracted homage to Neolithic archways of Stonhenge, set in the Wiltshire landscape.

Such symbolic portals show mans ability to build objects conjured up by the mind and forge fulfilled lives within the limits of our destiny. Here, it creates the entrance to a glass cave for fine wines. The monumental glass door has Argon gas under pressure for insulation.

The arch is made of carbon steel anchored in concrete to the floor and sheathed with brushed stainless steel.

There's refrigeration built into the ceiling with thermostatic control.

An homage to Stone Henge in Merry England!

"Ribbon on a Grand Piano"

Heading 1

This "Ribbon on A Grand Piano" floats above a 14 ft Bauhaus building.

The surface is horizontally brushed stainless steel reflecting the sky and amazing Californian sunsets.

It is made of 1/8"stainless steel over a 72 ft hand crafted glue-lam beam of marine plywood.

Below are lights which removes condensation in the 10" air space in the roof.

This sculpture unifies the architecture, complementing and still "finishing" the simple original industiral design with applomb.

"Ode to Joy"

Available for home or Institutional installation, reflective and respecting of the existing motifs and scale. Enquiries welcome.

"Ode to Joy" is a set of art designs for an uplifting, musically themed structure that would be mounted above an existing 36"wall which currently separates the courtyard between Colburn School of Music buildings and a 30 ft drop to concrete.

Lights cut in the steel are in the form of medieval music notation of Beethoven's, "Ode to Joy".

But minds change! No one had fallen in 10 years and so the project was shelved.

So these 3 pieces are available for a custom fabrication to reflect the milieux of an architectural location.
